What is ASM?
UTASM is an organization that focuses on the microbial world. We discuss diseases (both bacterial and viral), potential jobs in this field, help spread awareness, etc.
What do we do?
As an organization, we seek to promote student and general public interest in the the field of microbiology. Through public outreach and informative meetings, we seek to educate students and people and to disprove the notion that all microbes are harmful to humans. Additionally, through primary and secondary school outreach, we seek to promote healthy sanitary practices and educate younger children on the importance of proper sanitation, all while showing younger students a potential career path in the event that our presentations pique their interest.
